Al Korar House

In this house, Muharraq women work to preserve the craft of al korar (gold-thread weaving), which three generations of a local family saved from extinction. The intricate threadwork was once the occupation of all resident women; now only a handful know how to weave the elaborate braid that once adorned Bahraini ceremonial gowns, some of which are on display.
