American Mountaineering Museum

If you’ve come to Colorado to climb, this museum will give you tingles of inspiration. There’s a pile of stunning photos, historic climbing gear (some of which, like Peter Schoening’s ice axe, are from legendary expeditions) and a display on the 10th Mountain Division, which trained in Colorado before the fight in WWII – you can still use its huts in the Colorado backcountry.
