Bicentennial Park

This waterfront park is home to a much-photographed bronze Captain Cook statue, the kid-friendly musical ship and nearby Milbi Wall – a snakelike mosaic depicting the history of the local Gungarde (Guugu Yimithirr) people, from Creation stories through to attempts at reconciliation. Out in the water is a rock marking the spot where Cook ran aground.
