Devil's Tower National Monument

Rising a dramatic 1267ft above the Belle Fourche River, the nearly vertical monolith of Devil's Tower National Monument is an awesome site. Known as Bears Lodge by some of the 20-plus Native American tribes who consider it sacred, it's a must-see if you are traveling between the Black Hills (on the Wyoming–South Dakota border) and the Tetons or Yellowstone. Keep an eye out for prairie dogs.
