Drogon Gompa

This Sakyapa-school monastery is notable for its scary gönkhang (protector temple). Set atop a hill, it is adorned with snarling stuffed wolves and tantric masks. Only men may enter the temple. The temple is 35km northeast of town; a taxi here and back is around ¥150.
