Forte dos Remédios

Easily the best preserved of the island’s Portuguese forts, Forte dos Remédios is well worth a visit and has great views from its hilltop above Vila dos Remédios. At the time of writing, the fort was in the middle of a slow restoration process; it's likely a small admission fee will be charged once it's complete.
