The gaggling gannet colony at Cape Kidnappers – Te Kauwae-a-Māui to local Māori – is best visited between early November and late February, when the gannets are here in the greatest numbers (around 13,000 of them). Take a guided tour (charges apply) to get the most out of the experience.
