Jiuhuashan Park

This underrated park, just south of Xuanwu Lake, has a peaceful world-away feel and a delightful array of statues dotted around its leafy hills. The park is also home to a Buddhist temple and Sanzang (Tripitaka) Pagoda, which is said to contain a fragment of skull belonging to Xuan Zang, the monk of Journey to the West fame.
