Kinabatangan Orangutan Conservation Project (KOCP)

Inside Sukau village this conservation camp, run in partnership with a French NGO, is dedicated to studying and protecting the orangutan. It also establishes environmental-education programs, reforestation initiatives and an elephant-conservation project in the Sukau-Bilit area. It's not open to casual visitors, but staff may be willing to hire out guides for tracking wild orangutans; contact them well in advance.
