There are good views from this hilltop fort, built by Tipu Sultan in the 16th century, though today it’s the less glamorous site of the municipal headquarters. You can walk a short section of ramparts, and within the fort’s walls are the hexagonal palace (now the dusty district-commissioner’s office) and a colonial-era church, which houses a quirky museum.
