Mangawhai Museum

One of regional NZ's best museums, this spectacular building shaped like a stingray is on the main road linking Mangawhai village to Mangawhai Heads. Packed with engaging displays on the area's history and environment with plenty to interest school-aged kids. The gift shop is excellent plus there's a sun-drenched cafe (3pm close), also worthy of a stop.
