Masjid Mukaram Bang Thao

This busy mosque provides a good insight into Phuket village life and makes an interesting change of scene from the beach. Its cream-coloured facade and sea-green mosaic domes loom strikingly against the blue sky and jungly hills, and it's home to a friendly Muslim congregation who set up tasty halal street-food carts outside. Visitors are welcome.
