Museo Palacio de Junco

This double-arched edifice on the Plaza de la Vigía showcases the full sweep of Matanzas' history from pirate incursions to the cruel reign of slavery. There's a huge statue of unpopular Spanish king Ferdinand VII on a side patio, made in Italy in the 1830s.
