Palácio dos Marqueses da Praia e Monforte

This former royal palace was recently restored and reopened to the public in 2015. It houses a changing array of exhibitions showcasing talented artists from the Alentejo – easily the best works in Estremoz – with three to four shows annually. Regardless of what’s on, it’s well worth strolling the marble-lined corridors, past stained-glass windows beneath lovely decorative ceilings.
