Pearl fountain at the corniche of Doha, Qatar, Middle East

The famous pearl monument and fountain, a popular spot for photos, marks the entrance to the dhow harbour at the northern end of the Corniche. Before Qatar found oil, pearling was one of its main industries, and pearls are still a significant emblem for the country today.
