Rani Rupmati Mosque

Dating from around 1430-40, the Rani Rupmati mosque was built by Sultan Mahmud Begada in memory of his wife, Rani Rupmati (the mosque is sometimes called the Queen's Mosque). It's a beautiful square building noted for its fine filigree-like carvings around the window frames and on its double minarets, which make the minarets look like melted wax.
