Statue of Mihai Eminescu

This prominent statue of Romanian romantic poet Mihai Eminescu dates from the early 1930s and is the work of Romanian sculptor Oscar Han (1891–1976). The monument marks a visit to the Black Sea by Eminescu in 1882 and fulfills a poetic dream of Eminescu's to die by the edge of the sea.
