Madeira's best artificial beach is this gently sloping suntrap created with golden sand shipped in from Morocco and protected by two artificial breaks. Facilities include toilets, a volleyball court and showers. There are a couple of places to eat nearby as you watch planes gliding low across the mouth of the bay.
