This scenic hilltop site, once a large monastery, merits visiting for those interested in Buddhism or archaeology. Its name comes from the nine cisterns that were cut into the rock here – Thotlakonda means Hill of Cisterns. There's been some restoration work, and some stupas have been rebuilt, though information on site is lacking.
